Megan England, Introduction

Hello, I'm Megan and I live in a small town on the Great Plains in Colorado. I am a high school student and I've attended the same pre-K through 12th grade school my entire life. Our total student population is less than 100 so when I say small, that's what I'm talking about!

I am an avid reader of pretty much everything and I enjoy writing. After high school, I would like to major in Journalism. In my spare time, I like to do a little photography and when I get the chance, I love to chase summer storms—as long as I’m not too close! I love basketball and volleyball and play both sports competitively. I’m involved in student council and I am a member of the Youth Advisory Council at my school, a small group of student leaders who do numerous educational community service-projects in our school and community (it’s a program called “Service-Learning”).

I love small towns and the country way of life and that’s one of the reasons I became involved with Service-Learning and Ogallala Commons. I want to see my community and others like it thrive for generations to come!

  1. Megan,
Welcome to the OC internship! I'm looking forward to seeing what you can accomplish this summer. Hey, we have something in common; I went to that very same K-12 school my entire life! Wow! Oh, betcha already knew that, huh? Well, I'm sure this summer will have its challenges and rewards and in the end, you will be proud of your accomplishments and the community will be proud of you too. Keep us posted.
