Week 8, England

Well folks, my apologies for being so late on this, but I have been incredibly busy. (Oh, wait! I say that every time…). I have been frantically trying to finish everything I’ve been working on before school starts again in less than a week. That’s right folks, my time as an Ogallala Commons Summer 2010 Intern is coming down to a few short hours! This last week has been hectic, admittedly, but it’s also been kind of exhilarating.
I spent a lot of time working on my last two volunteer projects, the Campo Watermelon Festival, and then volunteering for concession duty at the local movie theater (look for more about that in my Community Service Blog). Below are the two movies that I helped with.

I also got to help set up a booth at our county fair about Economic Development, and then I helped to organize the people’s choice awards for the 2010 Youth Entrepreneurship Fair (the E-fair was in the spring, the People’s Choice Awards are held during county fair).

When I wasn’t doing those things, I was preparing for my Baca County Economic Development Intern Harvesting Ceremony held on Tuesday. The event went pretty well, and I am now officially done as a BCEDC intern, and will spend my last days of the Campo internship creating my harvesting ceremony presentation for Campo and my lovely intern folder. Look for my final blog and my community service blog (coming soon) to learn more about what the last weeks of my internship have been about, and how amazing this summer has been!

This is a piece of the powerpoint I used at my harvesting ceremony!

  1. Megan,
I was hoping that we had not heard the last from you. Glad that you made your Harvesting presentation for Baca County, and soon the one for Campo. Looking forward to seeing your Harvesting folder and your final blog, etc. You have done a great job on this internship! Do you have a date for the Youth Engagement Day in Campo yet?
